This 2012 V8 Vantage S has a bit more power, better brakes, more rubber on the tires, and 100lb less of weight than a non-S version.
It also comes with a clean title, and no accident history. With only 22k pampered miles, it’s at the perfect balance between depreciation and still feeling fresh inside and out. For most cars, 15-30k miles is the sweet spot for that.
The net output is 430hp and 361lb-ft of torque, which is 10 more horses and 15 more torques than the regular version. It should hit 0-60mph in 4 seconds flat according to Car and Driver.
It’s not all about acceleration in this car though, the looks and sounds are what’s special about it. The exhaust has active bypass valves that open when you’re above a certain RPM and engine load, and many people just pull a fuse to keep them open the whole time. I know I would!
The amazing 4.7L V9 motor is paired to a new single-clutch seven speed automated manual, and a limited slip differential. If you’re not sure what that does: when one of the rear wheels begins to spin, it transfers power to the other wheel in order to provide better traction. A limited slip differential really improves the car’s grip coming out of corners, and launching in a straight line.
The last oil change and service was on February, with 21,694 miles.
The Aston is aging really well, and is shaping up to be an icon in hindsight. As electrical cars take over, these are exactly the types of cars that will stir up nostalgia for the naturally aspirated V8 howl and rumble, that will be impossible to replicate with just speakers. You need a heart and a soul.
